Description

View of the Pau Castle, a fortified Renaissance building on the bank of the Gave, with square towers and the Monte-Oiseau tower. The reverse details its history: built in the 13th century, expanded in the 15th by Gaston Fébus, and later restored under Louis-Philippe and Napoleon III. It houses Flanders tapestries and memorabilia of Queen Jeanne d'Albret and Henri IV. Printed text mentions the collection 'la Solution Pautaubege'.
