Description

View of the Porte Maillot aerodrome in Paris, with a large captive balloon inflated and circus tents. The reverse indicates that this aerodrome, established in 1901, was a balloon park used for balloon raids, notably during the 1889 World's Fair in Saint-Cloud, and that it was superseded by the airplane by the end of the 1890s.
