Description

Group of French soldiers in uniform, in front of stacks of bread and tobacco cubes, during a distribution at the Sissonne camp in 1895. The reverse details the history of food and tobacco distribution in the French army, mentioning that bread was fixed at 750g and tobacco at 20g per soldier. Postmark of 5 centimes with cancellation.
