Description

Outdoor ski jump with a skier in mid-air above a crowd on a snowy slope. Printed text on the reverse explains the origin of ski jumping in Norway in 1879 and its adoption in France starting in 1899. The reverse also mentions competitions held in Chamonix and the maximum performance of thirty meters at the time.
