Description

Exterior view of the cloisters of the Abbey of La Chaise-Dieu, a Benedictine monastery founded in 1044 by Saint Robert of Brioude, with its Gothic church begun in the 14th century. The reverse details the history of the abbey and mentions the presence of the tomb of Saint Robert as well as the painting of the famous Dance of Death from the 15th century.
