Portrait of Duke Charles de Morny, French politician and diplomat, dressed in a dark suit with a white tie and decorations. The reverse details his biography: natural son of Queen Hortense and General Flahaut, he played a crucial role in the 1851 coup, became Minister of the Interior, then ambassador to Saint-Petersburg, and was made a duke in 1862. He is described as a brilliant and worldly character, the founder of the seaside resorts of Deauville and Trouville. Publisher: Tallandier S.A., Geneva, 1986.
