Description

Postcard showing the steamer La Provence, built in 1906 in Saint-Nazaire, which operated the New York-Plymouth route and was converted into an auxiliary cruiser during World War I before being torpedoed in 1916. The reverse details its history and mentions its renaming to Provence II, as well as its sinking by a German submarine.
