Description

Black and white panoramic view of Sisteron, perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the Durance, with its white houses and fortified castle in the background. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated September 20, 1916, addressed to 'my dear Elisa', mentioning an imminent departure for Paris and memories of the region. French 10-centime postmark canceled.
