Description

View of the Benedictine abbey of Solesmes, located on the banks of the Sarthe, with its reflection in the water. The reverse bears a handwritten correspondence dated 1915, sent to Mme Chuitat, describing the abbey as a pilgrimage site and place of Gregorian chant, and mentioning the presence of many foreigners.
