View of the Gate of Metz in Toul, with an arched passage framed by columns, bordered by bare trees and people in period clothing. On the reverse, handwritten correspondence dated Tuesday, December 26, 1916, addressed to a 'dear sister,' expressing wishes for good health and happy holidays, signed 'Pierre.'
