View of Wernigerode Town Hall, with its two spires and clock, surrounded by timber-framed houses. On the reverse, a postcard from the GDR dated 7.8.48, sent to Lyon, with a 25 pfennigs stamp and handwritten French text. The publisher is Melzer, and the reverse bears the inscription 'BILD UND HEIMAT' and 'DDR 0,20 M'.
