View of the Margueritte quarter in Commercy, with a group of soldiers in summer uniform lined up in front of a gate adorned with the inscription 'QUARTIER MARGUERITTE'. The reverse side features a handwritten letter addressed to Mr. Jean Caroque in Cherbourg-Manche, a 10-centime postage stamp, and a postmark from Commercy dated September 10, 1914.
