Indian interior postcard from 1948, addressed to the Secretary and Director General of the Indian Institute of Engineers in Calcutta. The reverse side bears the recipient's address, R.S. Rana in Sangrur, Punjab, with an inscription in Hindi and English: 'Untouchability is a crime against God and man'. A violet 35 annas stamp is affixed on the front, with a circular cancellation. Another circular cancellation with an image of Gandhi is visible on the reverse.
