View of a stormy sea with crashing waves and seagulls in flight, in front of a lighthouse or coastal tower. Printed text at the bottom: 'A ROUGH SEA OFF THE BANJO GROIN, BRIGHTON.' and a handwritten inscription: 'Brighton, 19 May 1903'. On the reverse, handwritten address to Miss A. Gavard, French Convent, Walpole Road, Brighton, with a green ½ penny stamp obliterated 'EMY18' and a date of 1903.
