Description

View of the Beaumesnil castle, built towards the end of the reign of Henri IV by Jacques Le Conte, lord of Nonant, and bequeathed last century by the Duke of Montmorency-Laval to Monsieur the Count Rodolphe de Maistre, son and nephew of the famous writers Joseph and Xavier de Maistre. Reverse: handwritten address to 'Mr Bonnel, at Appoigny, Jomme' with note 'All foreign countries do not accept correspondence on the front.'
