Illustration of the astronomical clock of Besançon, commissioned by Cardinal Mathieu, designed in 1858 and completed in August 1860, measuring 5m80 in height and composed of 30,000 mechanical parts. On the reverse, handwritten correspondence addressed to Mlle Guedin in Paris, with a 10-centime French postage stamp and a Besançon cancellation of 13-2-1910.
