Black and white view of the Cité de Carcassonne, with its ramparts and conical towers, taken from the southeast. Printed text at the bottom: 'Compensatory thanks and friendship'. Reverse: handwritten address to Mr. Aimable Patau in Lissieux (Calvados), 20-centime green stamp, postmark from Calviès (Lisie) dated July 24, 1903.
