Interior view of the crypt of Chartres Cathedral, showing barrel vaults and a stone altar. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated September 3, 1934, sent from Paris to a young lady at the Maison des Dames Augustines in Gonars (Côtes du Nord), with a violet 40-centime stamp and a cancellation from Paris 18-30-1934.
