Panoramic black and white view of the Mer de Glace glacier in Chamonix, with a small isolated chalet in the foreground and snow-capped mountains in the background. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated 1912, addressed to Mr. Antoine Vermain in Paris, with a 10-centime French postage stamp and a postmark from the Hôtel du Glacier.
