View of the Porte Guillaume in Chartres, a medieval gate from the 14th century, with adjacent buildings including a tobacco shop and a refreshment stand. The reverse side features a handwritten address to Monsieur Louis Merentie in Marseille, with a 5 centime postage stamp and a cancellation from Chartres dated 17 November 1904.
