View of the Château de Maintenon from the south side, with a canal in the foreground and characteristic towers. The printed text relates its origin in the 16th century, its partial construction by Jean Cottereau, and its acquisition in 1674. The reverse features handwritten text, an address to Marseille, a 20-centime postage stamp, and a postmark from Maintenon dated May 11, 1920.
