Description

Engraved portrait of the Duke of Berry, born in Versailles in 1778, second son of the Count of Artois (Charles X), showing his uniform adorned with decorations. The printed text details his life: he followed his family into exile, married Princess Caroline of Bourbon in 1816, was assassinated at the Opera on February 13, 1820 by a worker named Louvel, and left a daughter and a posthumous son. Reverse: instructions for address and correspondence, with publisher Léty et Neurbein, 44 rue Lepelletier, Paris.
