Two women wear traditional costumes with embroidered aprons and collars, one from the back, the other from the front. The reverse side features a handwritten letter addressed to Mr. E. Carnot in Paris, with a 20-centime French Republic postage stamp and a postmark from Saint-Gilles-de-Rheys.
