Armistice Monument in Compiègne, dated November 11, 1918, with inscription: 'Here, on November 11, 1918, succumbed the criminal proud of the German Empire, defeated by the free peoples he claimed to subjugate.' Reverse: handwritten correspondence dated 1932, addressed to 'Mme Lamotte' in Compiègne, with a circular postal stamp 'MONUMENT' and a postmark 'COMPIÈGNE'.
