Description

Black and white panoramic view of the Fort of Douaumont, with its rocky cliffs and dirt paths. The reverse details the history of the fort: built in 1885, surprised by the enemy on 25 February 1916, recaptured by the 321st Line Regiment « Gauloise » on 24 October 1916. The stamp and postmark of the Douaumont Ossuary (Meuse) are visible.
