Description

Black and white view of a ruined fort with an arched entrance, surrounded by barbed wire and disturbed earth, in a mountainous landscape. On the reverse, printed text describing the German bombardments of June 15, 1916, and the French attacks of July 11 and 12, 1916, with a circular postmark from the Douaumont Ossuary (Meuse) and a note of exclusive ownership by the Ossuary Committee.
