Description

Black and white view of the port of Dover with several sailing and steam ships in the foreground, and buildings on the heights in the background. Printed text at the bottom: 'GRANVILLE DOCKS, AND WESTERN HEIGHTS, DOVER'. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated 1890 addressed to Madame Foucault in Cherbourg, with a red 'Foreign One Penny' stamp and a postal mark 'DOVER' at the top right.
