Black and white view of a Gothic corridor with pointed arch vaults and tracery windows, typical of the Grand Cloister of the Grande Chartreuse. Printed text at the bottom of the front indicates the date and publisher. Reverse: French postage stamp with postmark 'LA GRANDE CHARTREUSE (1886)', unaddressed correspondence, and mention of the publisher 'LÉVY ET NEUFOURIN RÉCÉES, 44, RUE LAVILLIER, PARIS'.
