Engraved portrait of John Law, Scottish banker born in Edinburgh in 1671 and died in Venice in 1729, with Latin and French inscriptions describing his role as general controller of finances and founder of the Royal Bank. The reverse presents the continuation of the legend in French, describing his system of paper money and his General Bank, as well as the mention 'Correspondence' and 'Address'.
