Colored view of Fort Douaumont, one of the most powerful forts in the defense of Verdun, with paths and green hills. The reverse indicates that it fell into German hands on February 25, 1916, and was recaptured by the French on October 24, 1916. French 20-centime postage stamp and cancellation mark from Verdun dated November 28, 1916. Handwritten address to Madame Secourt in Châtillon-sur-Seine.
