View of St James's Palace in London, with a clock on a fortified building and a horse-drawn carriage. The reverse indicates that the palace, built in 1532, was the most important royal residence in the city and mentions the execution of Charles I and the marriage of Queen Victoria. The postal mark is stamped with a red 1 penny stamp and bears a circular cancellation from VORS (Ghent) dated 5-6-1911, addressed to Brussels, Belgium.
