Description

Black and white aerial view of Lourdes, showing the village nestled between the mountains, with the Basilica of the Rosary prominently displayed. The printed text at the bottom indicates '29 - LOURDES. - View taken from the Fort Castle.' On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated April 24, 1946, addressed to 'Chère Gous' in Coulouze, mentions a trip to Lourdes. The publisher is 'ÉDITION LOURDES' and the postage stamp is a 50-centime French Republic stamp, canceled in Lourdes on April 24, 1946.
