View of the Château de Maintenon with its pond, illustrated with a portrait of Françoise de Maintenon. Printed text relates the history of the castle, begun by Philippe-Auguste and partially built by Jean Cottereau in the 15th century. Reverse: green 35-centime stamp, shipping mark 'EURE ET LOIR', handwritten message 'Bons souvenirs Amitiés Gromme' and address to Marcel Panier in Paris (Seine).
