View of the Prefecture in Mende, an imposing building with slate roofs and mullioned windows, in front of which stands a horse-drawn carriage. The reverse side features a letter dated May 1, 1915, sent from the hospital in Mende to Carcassonne, with a postage stamp and Mende postmark.
