Description

Black and white view of war ruins of a village, highlighting a church with its intact steeple but surrounding buildings destroyed, under a layer of snow. The back features handwritten correspondence dated 18 March 1918, sent by a soldier from the 11th Corps, 2nd Section, S. P. 173, to his friends, mentioning his return from leave and good health.
