Description

Postcard showing the commemorative monument of the Trench of the Bayonets in Douaumont, with a main view of the monument and a circular insert of the interior of the trench. The reverse indicates the inauguration in December 1920 by French President M. A. Millerand and American ambassador M. Wallace, and mentions the generosity of C. F. Rand. The obliterated stamp 'OSSUAIRE de DOUAUMONT (Meuse)' is visible.
