Official portrait of Napoleon I crowned, holding the scepter, dressed in a gold-embroidered white robe, a white fur coat, and a Legion of Honour collar. The reverse indicates that the work was created by F. Gérard, photographer of Versailles, and mentions that he was commissioned to create this official portrait after Napoleon's coronation.
