Vibrant view of Cliftonville beach with a crowd of swimmers and a wooden pier on the left. Handwritten text on the front: « Dear Miss, We are today in Margate, the weather is not very nice but the crossing was good, we came by boat. » Signed « J. Embroise, Hetty » and numbered JWS 516. Reverse: address to Miss M. Mouron, 10 rue des Fêtes, Paris XIX, France, with a halfpenny stamp and postmark of 'S.G. 20' (probably Southampton, UK).
