View of the neoclassical façade of the Church of the Madeleine in Paris, with its Corinthian column portico and sculpted pediment. Printed text indicates that the first stone was laid by Louis XV on April 3, 1764. Reverse: green 15-centime stamp, Strasbourg obliteration mark of June 25, 1940, handwritten address to Maurice P. Goyot in Paris, and mention of the publisher C.M. Paris.
