View of the Prefecture in Bar-le-Duc, an imposing neo-Gothic building with gabled roof and ornate balconies. Printed text at the top: 'BAR-le-DUC - The Prefecture - E.C.'. On the reverse, a letter dated 10 March 1920 addressed to Madame Capdordy in Marseille, with a green 15-centime postage stamp and a Bar-le-Duc dispatch cancellation.
