Description

View of the Synodal Palace in Sens, a 13th-century Gothic building dated 1231, with its rose windows and battlements. Printed text on the front mentions its restoration in 1860 by Viollet-le-Duc and its role as an archaeological museum. Reverse: handwritten text dated September 20, sent to M. and Mme Faure-Freymiet in Le Croît, Loire-Inférieure, with a red 40-centime stamp and a cancellation mark from Sens.
