View of the refinery in Sermaize-les-Bains with a large industrial building and a chimney, illustrating the destruction caused by a bombing in September 1914, where 22,000 bags of sugar burned. The reverse side features handwritten correspondence addressed to Mrs. Chiris in Baume-Paris, with slanted handwriting and marginal notes.
