View of the Old Sugar Refinery in Fismes, built in 1759 and belonging to the Société Anonyme des Anciennes Sucrières Macherez Gournant et Cie. The industrial building with its imposing chimney is surrounded by people and carts. On the reverse, handwritten correspondence addressed to Marcelle Prespin in Marseille, with a stamp and a Fismes cancellation dated July 31, 1917.
