View of King René's castle in Tarascon, with inscription indicating its construction began on November 27, 1400, during the reign of Louis II, Count of Provence. Reverse: handwritten address to Madame Redace de Lamartine in Paris, blue 15-cent stamps, postmark from Tarascon of April 16, 1904, and a receiving postmark in Lamartine (Gard).
