View of the castle of Thouars, former seat of the de la Tour d'Auvergne family, transformed into a House of Correction in 1871. Printed text on the front indicates the construction date (1635) and the publisher (Vve Debarre). The reverse shows a standard correspondence area with partial cancellation and a visible damp stain.
