View of Fort de Douaumont in Verdun, with two soldiers in front of its entrance and a small building to the left. The reverse details its history: called « Pilar Angulaire Nord-Est » by the Kronprinz, occupied by surprise on February 25, 1916, recaptured on October 24, 1916 by the 321st R.1. Division under the command of General Passaga. 20-centime French Republic postal stamp, canceled.
