Watercolor depicting the Saint-Lazare church and belfry of Avallon, with tiled roofs and a cloudy sky. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated 21 August, sent by Alfred Ducet to a friend, expressing the hope of spending a few weeks in Avallon and Vouhenay. The publisher is 'les éditions nivernaises', printed in France.
