Description

View of the Culloden Battlefield, where Charles' last hopes of regaining the throne were crushed on 16 April 1746. Two menhirs and a stone monument mark the graves of the Highlanders. The reverse bears a handwritten letter dated 14 April 1961, sent from Lairg (Scotland) to Madame Ragiot in Paris, with a French tax stamp and obliterated British stamps.
