Description

Postcard illustrating three historical postal scales preserved at the Canadian Museum of History. The text in English and French explains their use for weighing mail in order to calculate postal rates. The lever scale in the foreground, used until the 20th century, could weigh up to 25 pounds. The publisher is indicated on the reverse, with handwritten correspondence and a Canada 42 postmark canceled.
