Description

Postcard illustrating the stern-wheeler mail steamer Bownington, launched in 1911 for the CPR postal service on Kootenay and Okanagan lakes, transferred to the British Columbia government in 1942 and scrapped in 1946. Bilingual text in English and French. Handwritten address to Thornhill, Ontario, with a Canada 5¢ stamp and cancellation from Victoria, B.C. (V8W 2A8).
